What this site collects, why, and how to get it removed.

Who we are

Case Theme is a blog about WordPress themes, web performance, and running a small web business. The site is owned and operated by its founder, and can be reached at info@casetheme.net.

This policy covers casetheme.net and any subdomains. It does not cover sites we link to, which run their own policies.

What we collect

We collect as little as the site can function on. In practice that means:

  • Comments. Your name, email address, comment text, IP address and browser user agent, so comments can be moderated for spam.
  • Newsletter. Your email address, and the date you subscribed, if you choose to subscribe.
  • Contact form. Your name, email address and message, so we can reply.
  • Analytics. Aggregated page views, referrers, country and device type. This is not tied to a name or an email address.
  • Server logs. Your IP address and requested URL, kept briefly by the host for security and debugging.

What we do not collect

We do not collect payment details, we do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not run advertising networks that build a cross-site profile of you. If that changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live.

Cookies

The site sets cookies in three situations:

  • If you leave a comment and tick the box to remember your details, so you do not have to retype them.
  • If you log in, to keep you logged in and remember your screen options.
  • For analytics, to count a returning visit as one person rather than two.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them does not stop you reading anything on this site.

Embedded content from other sites

Articles may embed content such as videos or code demos. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website, which means it can collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with it. We have no control over what those third parties do.

How long we keep things

  • Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up replies still make sense.
  • Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact form messages are kept for 24 months, then deleted.
  • Server logs are typically kept for 30 days by the host.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. If you are in the EU or UK you have these rights under the GDPR, and we apply the same process to everyone regardless of where they live.

Email info@casetheme.net with the subject line "Data request" and we will respond within 30 days. Deletion requests do not cover data we have to keep for legal or security reasons.

Where your data goes

Data is processed by our hosting provider, our email delivery provider, and our analytics provider. Each of these may store data outside your country. We choose providers that offer standard contractual clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism.

Changes to this policy

This policy was last updated in October 2026. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
